Some extremely hot weather was experienced early in the 2000 season and was followed by heavy January rainfall, not usually seen in Margaret River at this time of year. Fortunately, it was early enough not to damage the fruit. Yields were slightly down on normal years.
Garnet coloured, this wine is showing soft ripe raspberry notes on the nose.
The palate has good ripe cherry and raspberry flavours, medium to light in weight and structure allowing for further development. A nice spicy complexity lingers as an aftertaste.
Only 500 cases produced. This wine is drinking well now and will improve with more development over the short to medium term
"Light to medium red-purple; a clean, light bouquet with faintly aromatic/foresty overtones, then a palate with more presence thanks to tangy/foresty varietal character, and fine but persistent tannins. Rating 85 Drink 2006 Date Tasted Feb 02"
