Since its inception in 1974, Leeuwin Estate’s mission has been to produce wines that rank with the best in the world through the pursuit of excellence. Today Leeuwin has been recognised through the receipt of numerous awards for its wines, restaurant, architecture, environment, arts endeavours, and as a leader in wine tourism.

On three occasions Leeuwin has been included in the prestigious category of "International Winery of the Year" by US "Wine & Spirits" magazine and included in the prestigious French publication, "100 Vins De Legende", as one of the world's great wine legends. Australia’s largest wine auction house, Langtons, includes Leeuwin’s Chardonnay in the top ‘exceptional’ category, whilst Leeuwin has been included in Wine Spectator’s category of Classic wines of the World. With a point score of 98/100 WINE SPECTATOR listed Leeuwin’s 2001 Art Series Chardonnay at number 24 in the Editor’s selection of their top 100 wines of 2004.

With a score of 98/100 points the Leeuwin Estate 2001 Art Series Chardonnay was listed at number 24 out of the top 100 wines from over 12 500 tasted by Wine Spectator's Editors in 2004.

With a score of 97/100 Leeuwin Estate’s 1999 Art Series Chardonnay was listed at number 33 out of the top 100 wines tasted by Wine Spectator’s Editors in 2002.

2005 Wine of the year – Leeuwin Estate 2002 Art Series Chardonnay
